Psychiatry opening in KY Located in Somerset Lexington 81m Full-time; permanent Regional Hospital, a 295-bed acute-care facility located in Somerset, KY, is seeking a BC/BE Psychiatrist to join their team! Located just minutes from I-75, Somerset has a solid business climate and offers a great opportunity for the right physician to establish a clinical outpatient practice while providing inpatient psychiatry consult services with ED call on a rotational basis, divided equally among providers. The hospital has a dedicated behavioral health floor that includes 27 adult beds plus 7 geriatric beds. Ideal candidates would practice general psychiatry with other fellowships an asset, preferably Addiction Medicine. About the Hospital Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, a 295-bed acute-care facility, provides medical services to a 10-county service area in south central Kentucky. Since opening with 175 beds in 1976, the hospital has grown steadily to meet the needs of the community by completing ten major expansion projects the latest being a five-story116,000 square-foot, medical tower with a three-story parking garage. Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital offers complete cardiac care including open-heart surgery and a neurosurgery program that is rated among the best in the nation. It has three cath labs, comprehensive clinical pathology and laboratory, cardiopulmonary services, surgical services (including orthopedic, bariatric and urological) and a radiology department with nuclear medicine, ultrasound, 16- and 64-slice CT, X-ray with fluoroscopy, MRI and Open MRI. The hospital also has womens and childrens services, a level II neonatal nursery, med/surg and intensive care units, inpatient rehabilitation unit, skilled care unit and a behavioral health unit to provide care for both adult and geriatric patients. In order to better serve our patients, the hospital also has eight convenient off-site centers that provide outpatient services including: bariatric, cancer treatment, imaging, surgery, wound care and hyperbaric medicine, therapy, open MRI, and sleep disorders. The Community Located just minutes from I-75, Somerset has a strong and solid business climate. This part of Kentucky is known as the houseboat capital of the world, with the majority of houseboats being manufactured in the immediate area. The public school system of Pulaski County serves approximately 8,000 students with eight elementary schools, two middle schools, two high schools and one technology center. Independent school systems include Somerset Independent, with one elementary school, one middle school and one high school; and Science Hill Independent, with one school for students K-8. There also are several Christian schools, with Somerset Christian School being the largest, with more than 300 K-12 students. Somerset is also home to the Center for Rural Development, which brings nationally recognized, high quality performing and visual arts, concerts and other special events to the community. Somerset Community College, a division of the Kentucky Community-Technical College System (KCTCS), offers associate degrees and curricula for the first two years toward a bachelors degree.
