We are actively seeking a General Adult Psychiatrist for a full-time locum tenens assignment in Reading, Pennsylvania. This is an inpatient role with a structured weekday schedule and strong interdisciplinary support—ideal for providers looking to start quickly and maintain a consistent caseload.

Job Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for adult inpatient admissions
Provide daily follow-ups and discharge planning
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic psychiatric conditions using evidence-based practices
Develop and manage individualized treatment plans, including psychopharmacology
Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and patient response
Provide crisis intervention, stabilization, and de-escalation
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (nursing, social work, psychology, etc.)
Participate in treatment team meetings and care coordination
Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
Adhere to ethical, legal, and regulatory standards
👥 Practice Environment
Patient Load: 18–20 patients per day
Age Group: Adults (18+)
Support: Full treatment team and nursing staff
Other Providers: 12 on staff
Mid-Level Supervision: Not required
Qualifications
Board Eligible or Board-Certified Psychiatrist (Adult)
Active Pennsylvania License
BLS Certification required
Experience in inpatient psychiatry preferred
