Job Title: Inpatient Psychiatrist – 7 On / 7 Off Rotation
Location: Oroville, California
Position Overview
A hospital-based behavioral health program is seeking an Inpatient Psychiatrist for a 7 on / 7 off rotation. This role combines inpatient psychiatric care with a strong academic component, working closely with PGY-1 and PGY-2 residents in a collaborative, team-based environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric care in an inpatient setting
- Conduct daily rounds, evaluations, and medication management for hospitalized patients
- Supervise and collaborate with PGY-1 and PGY-2 residents
- Participate in teaching, mentorship, and clinical guidance of residents
- Perform psychiatric assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage patient care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, social work, and case management
- Participate in discharge planning and care coordination
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
Schedule & Working Hours
- 7 days on / 7 days off rotation
- Daytime coverage during scheduled week
- Inpatient unit coverage
- Structured schedule supporting continuity of care
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- Active California medical license (or ability to obtain)
- DEA license required
- Experience in inpatient psychiatry preferred
- Interest or experience in teaching and supervising residents strongly preferred

Minimum 1–2 years of experience in outpatient or community mental health preferred
