Job Title: Psychiatrist
Department: Department of Developmental Disabilities
Locations: Columbus OH 43215
Shift: 08:00am-04:00pm (M-F)
Duration: 6 months
Hours/week: 24-40 hours per week - Majority of the time it will be closer to 40 hours per week
Job Duties
- Evaluate, examine, analyze, diagnose, and treat patients.
- Prescribe medication and perform in-depth psychotherapy and counseling (e.g., psychoanalysis, behavior modification).
- Monitor and coordinate professional and paraprofessional medical, nursing, and direct care staff in areas related to psychiatric care.
- Review patient records for accuracy and completeness; recommend improvements in hospital staffing and organization.
- Conduct and participate in lectures and seminars in psychiatry or related fields for professional and paraprofessional healthcare staff.
Major Worker Characteristics
- Knowledge: Medicine, psychology, sociology, anatomy, physiology.
- Skills: Administering medication.
- Abilities: Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret extensive technical material; manage multiple variables and determine specific courses of action; handle sensitive interactions with patients under medical care.
Requirement:
- State of Ohio Medical License.
- Experience with adults, adolescents, and children.
