Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in Staten Island, NY (10310) — lead a new Partial Hospital Program to transform youth mental health. Join a collaborative psychiatry team delivering evidence-based care for ages 11–17 in a community-focused setting. Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,830 – $8,090 (competitive psychiatrist pay)
  • Location: Staten Island, NY (10310) — New York child psychiatry jobs
  • Setting: On-site Partial Hospital Program / Partial Hospitalization Program (Ages 11–17)
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour days (program 2pm–6pm, plus additional morning clinic hours)
  • Shifts per Week: 5
  • Shift Duration: 8 hours
  • Employment Type: Permanent preferred; 6-month locum tenens considered with intent to transition to permanent (locum tenens child psychiatrist welcome)
  • Call: No mandatory call; voluntary moonlighting available

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Completion of Psychiatry Residency and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship
  • Active and unrestricted New York medical license, or eligibility to obtain
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in child and adolescent psychiatry preferred
  • Experience supervising psychiatry residents and working within multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to program development, quality improvement, and evidence-based youth mental health care

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric assessments, daily evaluations, medication management, and individualized treatment planning for youth ages 11–17 in the partial hospital program
  • Manage a diverse caseload including mood disorders, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and psychotic disorders
  • Provide clinical leadership and contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives
  • Supervise, mentor, and teach psychiatry residents rotating through the program
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, program supervisors, peer specialists, and community partners
  • Coordinate transitions of care from inpatient units and outpatient services to ensure continuity and safety
  • Participate in team meetings, family conferences, and community outreach to support youth mental health
