Job description
Position Overview
One of our Partners in Idaho is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist to provide outpatient geriatric psychiatry coverage beginning April 27, 2026, for an initial 13-week assignment with potential extension.
This role is ideal for psychiatrists who enjoy the flexibility of locum tenens work and are looking for a low-commitment, high-efficiency schedule. The position requires just one clinic day per week, making it an excellent option for physicians seeking supplemental income, semi-retired clinicians who want to stay active, or providers balancing multiple clinical commitments.
The assignment focuses exclusively on follow-up medication management visits for an established patient panel, meaning there are no new patient intakes, no inpatient responsibilities, and no call coverage. Providers can expect a structured outpatient clinic day with predictable patient volumes and strong clinical support staff.
Located in Boise, Idaho—one of the fastest-growing and most desirable mid-sized cities in the country—this assignment combines a manageable clinical schedule with access to exceptional outdoor recreation, vibrant downtown amenities, and convenient travel connections.
Provider Pay: $2,000 per day ($250/hour equivalent)
Estimated Weekly Earnings: $2,000
Market Pay Ranking: Top ~15% of Outpatient Psychiatry Locum Physician Pay (2026 market data)
Travel expenses are covered. The facility prefers physicians who can drive or take a short regional flight due to the limited weekly schedule.
Malpractice insurance coverage is provided.
