Location: Toledo, OH 43414
Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (flexible hours if needed)
Duration: At least 6 months from start date
Hours per Week: 40
Education: Doctoral Degree in Medicine (Psychiatry)
Job Overview
We are seeking a Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients. This role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating mental health conditions, prescribing medications, and providing psychotherapy. The psychiatrist will collaborate with medical, nursing, and support staff to ensure quality care and may participate in professional education and training initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Evaluate, examine, and diagnose patients; provide psychotherapy and counseling (e.g., psychoanalysis, behavior modification).
• Prescribe and administer appropriate medications.
• Monitor and coordinate care provided by medical, nursing, and support staff.
• Review patient records for accuracy and completeness; recommend improvements in care delivery.
• Conduct or participate in lectures, seminars, and professional development activities for healthcare staff.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Knowledge of medicine, psychology, sociology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Skill in administering medication and therapeutic interventions.
• Ability to analyze complex data, define problems, draw valid conclusions, and determine appropriate courses of action.
• Ability to handle sensitive interactions with patients under medical care.
Minimum Qualifications
• Medical license to practice psychiatry in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Completion of an accredited residency program in psychiatry.
• Proof of medical license
• CPR certification (healthcare professional level)
• DEA certification (if applicable)
• Medical diploma
• Proof of COVID vaccination or exemption
• Alternatively, recognized as a psychiatrist by a professional medical association with 5+ years of psychiatric practice.
• Commitment to maintain biannual license renewal and 100 hours of continuing education.
