Client Volume

In a 7.5-hour shift, providers typically see 6–10 clients, depending on visit type (follow-ups vs. new evaluations).
Patient Population
-
Primarily developmentally disabled individuals with co-occurring mental health disorders.

Small portion of cases involve JV-220 forms.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct psychiatric assessments, evaluations, and mental status exams (MSEs).
Diagnose patients using the current DSM.
Provide ongoing medication management, including prescribing controlled substances.
Use the organization’s electronic health record system and follow Santa Clara County Psychiatric Medical Guidelines.
Collaborate closely with medical directors, nurses, clinicians, and case managers.
Review labs, diagnostics, and consultation reports relevant to patient care.
Produce detailed written reports, documentation, and treatment summaries.
Participate in developing individualized treatment plans with clinical staff.
Deliver psychiatric services via telehealth (Zoom) and/or in‑office outpatient settings.
Offer consultation and peer guidance to other psychiatrists and therapists.
Consult with clinic leadership regarding policies and treatment issues.
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
Provide education and counseling to families/caregivers about diagnoses and developmental disabilities.
Prepare legal or court‑related documents when necessary (e.g., JV‑220 forms).
Qualifications
Preferred: Board Certified or Board Eligible
Not required: Non‑BC/BE providers may still be considered.
