A leading hospital in Rochester, New York is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to provide locum coverage in a high-acuity psychiatric emergency setting. This opportunity offers flexible shift options and the chance to work alongside a collaborative, multidisciplinary team while serving a diverse patient population.

  • Setting: CPEP Unit (56 adult beds, 27 child & adolescent beds)
  • Patient Population: All ages, high-acuity
  • Daily Volume: 25–40 patients; 10–12 admissions across the clinical team
  • EMR: Epic
  • Compensation: $250 per hour

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment in a high-acuity emergency setting
  • Manage admissions and coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team
  • Collaborate with MDs, APPs, social workers, residents, and nursing staff
  • Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR system
  • Ensure quality and continuity of patient care

Qualifications

  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Active and unrestricted medical license
  • Experience managing high-acuity psychiatric cases
  • Ability to work effectively within a team-based environment

Working Hours

  • Flexible weekday and weekend coverage
  • 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts available
  • No overtime paid

Skills

  • Strong diagnostic and clinical assessment skills
  • Experience in emergency or crisis psychiatric settings preferred
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities
