Psychiatrist – Region 1 (Mental Health)
Location: Toledo, OH 43414
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (flexible start time based on facility needs)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Duration: Minimum 6 months (potential for extension)
Education Required: Doctoral Degree (MD or DO)
Position Overview
We are seeking a licensed Psychiatrist to provide full-time psychiatric services within a state-operated behavioral health facility. This role involves working with forensic patients and delivering comprehensive mental health care services. The facility is transitioning to EPIC (electronic medical record system).
No weekends or holidays required.
Key Responsibilities
• Evaluate, examine, diagnose, and treat patients with behavioral health conditions
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications
• Provide in-depth psychotherapy and counseling (including behavior modification and related modalities)
• Monitor and coordinate medical, nursing, and direct care staff in areas related to psychiatric care
• Review patient records for accuracy and completeness
• Recommend improvements in clinical operations and staffing as appropriate
• Participate in and conduct lectures or seminars for healthcare staff
• Document services in the electronic health record system
Required Qualifications
• Active Ohio Medical License
• Completion of an approved Psychiatry residency program
• Eligibility for certification to practice medicine in Ohio
• DEA Certification (Ohio)
• Healthcare Provider CPR Certification
• Medical Diploma
• COVID vaccination or approved exemption
Preferred Qualifications
• CAQH profile (preferred but not required)
