Locum - Physician - Psychiatry - Inpatient Anderson, SC

You will work alongside a dedicated team in a reputable hospital setting, helping to maintain high standards of care in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills:
  • Active Medical License and Certification in Psychiatry
  • Proven experience in inpatient psychiatric care
  • Ability to prescribe medications, including narcotics, following CMS guidelines
  • Strong documentation skills, including weekly care plans and discharge summaries
  • Competency in supervising healthcare providers, such as nurse practitioners
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with EPICT electronic medical records system
  • Knowledge of geriatric psychiatry
  • Prior experience working in behavioral health facilities
  • Familiarity with higher-acuity psychiatric settings

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Psychiatry
  • Minimum of 2 years of inpatient psychiatric experience preferred
  • Prior locum or temporary hospital-based role experience is advantageous

Other Requirements:
  • Availability to start on or around February 4, 2026, with an expected credentialing timeframe of 60-90 days
  • Travel reimbursement available if within driving distance; arrangements to be made upon approval
  • Ability to work a varied schedule with a call ratio of approximately 1:4, with on-call responsibilities shared among four physicians and one mid-level provider
  • Passion for providing exceptional mental health care and supporting a multidisciplinary team
