We’re offering an excellent full-time locum opportunity for an Adult Psychiatrist in an inpatient setting in Reading, Pennsylvania. This assignment provides a predictable weekday schedule, strong clinical support, and premium hourly compensation, making it ideal for psychiatrists seeking stability without call responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities
Manage daily follow-ups and coordinate discharge planning
Diagnose and treat acute psychiatric conditions using evidence-based practices
Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans, including medication management
Monitor medication effectiveness and patient response
Provide crisis intervention, stabilization, and de-escalation when needed
Collaborate closely with nursing, therapy, social work, and medical teams
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings
Complete accurate and timely documentation in the EMR (WellSky)
Maintain compliance with ethical, legal, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
Board Eligible (Board Certified welcome)
BLS certification required
Active Pennsylvania license or ability to obtain
Suboxone certification not required
Working Hours
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
No call, no nights, no weekends
Inpatient setting
Skills
Expertise in psychopharmacologic management
Ability to manage acute psychiatric presentations
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
Comfort working in a structured inpatient environment
EMR proficiency (WellSky preferred)
