Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- No nights or call responsibilities
- One weekend per month, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 20–22 shifts per month
Requirements
- Board Certification (BC) in Psychiatry
- Active MO license or IMLC eligibility
- BLS certification required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Local providers strongly encouraged to apply
Clinical Responsibilities
The physician will provide comprehensive psychiatric care in an inpatient setting, focusing on the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with diverse psychiatric conditions.
Required Skills
- Anxiety Disorders: Assess and manage patients experiencing generalized anxiety, panic attacks, or phobias through structured therapy and medication management.
- Affective Disorders: Diagnose and treat mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder, ensuring stabilization and continuity of care.
- ADD/ADHD: Evaluate attention-related disorders and implement pharmacological and behavioral interventions.
- Personality Disorders: Provide structured therapeutic approaches to patients with borderline, antisocial, or other personality disorders, ensuring safety and adherence to treatment plans.
- Developmental Disorders: Support patients with autism spectrum or intellectual disabilities, coordinating multidisciplinary care.
- Eating Disorders: Manage conditions such as anorexia and bulimia with a combination of medical stabilization and psychiatric intervention.
- Psychotic Disorders: Diagnose and treat schizophrenia and related disorders, focusing on symptom control and relapse prevention.
- Organic Disorders: Address psychiatric manifestations of neurological or medical conditions, ensuring integrated care with other specialties.
Familiarity With
- Involuntary Commitments: Evaluate patients for legal criteria, complete documentation, and participate in hearings as required.
- Seclusion Therapy: Implement seclusion protocols when clinically indicated, ensuring patient safety and compliance with facility standards.
- Restraint Application: Apply and oversee restraint procedures when necessary, adhering to ethical and regulatory guidelines.
Treatment Techniques
- Pharmacotherapy: Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitor efficacy, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT): Evaluate candidates for ECT, perform or oversee procedures, and monitor post-treatment recovery.
