Job Tittle : Psychiatrist – Region 5
Location: Columbus, OH 43215
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours per Week: 24–40 (typically closer to 40)
Duration: Minimum 6 months (may extend)
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment services to individuals across various age groups in a professional healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, experience working with diverse populations, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams.
Job Responsibilities (in Order of Importance)
• Evaluate, examine, diagnose, and treat patients with psychiatric conditions.
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications.
• Provide in-depth psychotherapy and counseling (e.g., psychoanalysis, behavioral modification).
• Monitor and coordinate the work of professional and paraprofessional medical, nursing, and direct care staff related to psychiatric care.
• Review medical and psychiatric records for accuracy and completeness and recommend improvements to care delivery.
• Conduct and participate in lectures, trainings, and educational seminars for healthcare staff as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of medicine, psychiatry, psychology, sociology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Skill in administering and managing medications.
• Ability to assess complex clinical situations, analyze data, and make sound medical decisions.
• Ability to interpret and apply technical medical literature and clinical guidelines.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
Minimum Qualifications
• Valid Ohio Medical License (MD or DO) in good standing.
• Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program.
• Recognition as a psychiatrist through appropriate professional or medical associations as required by Ohio regulations.
• Doctoral degree (MD or DO).
Licensure & Ongoing Requirements
• Biannual renewal of medical license with completion of required continuing education (100 hours).
Preferred Experience
• Experience treating adults, adolescents, and children.
• Experience working in community-based or multi-site healthcare environments.
