The behavioral health service line provides comprehensive outpatient psychiatric care for adults with a wide range of mental health conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, trauma-related conditions, and co-occurring medical or substance use disorders. The clinical environment is collaborative, evidence-based, and supported by experienced multidisciplinary teams.

Position Summary

The organization is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to join its growing outpatient behavioral health team in the Greater New Haven area.

This is a full-time, permanent outpatient position with no or minimal inpatient responsibilities. The psychiatrist will focus on psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing outpatient care. You will work closely with psychologists, therapists, advanced practice providers, nurses, and care coordinators to deliver comprehensive, integrated behavioral health services.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments

  • Provide outpatient medication management and treatment planning

  • Diagnose and treat a broad range of psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and related disorders

  • Collaborate with therapists, primary care providers, and other specialists to ensure coordinated patient care

  • Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust care plans as clinically appropriate

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)

  • Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and care coordination

  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based clinical practices

  • Stay current with advancements in psychiatry and behavioral health treatment

Qualifications

  • Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

  • Board Status: Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Psychiatry

  • Licensure: Eligible for Connecticut medical licensure

  • Training: Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry residency

  • Experience: All experience levels welcome; new graduates encouraged to apply
