Locums – Psychiatry | Chattanooga, TN
Assignment Dates: 02/02/2026 – 05/01/2026
Setting: Inpatient Psychiatry
Coverage Need: Urgent
QUICK SNAPSHOT
- Start: February 2, 2026
- Length: 3 months (ongoing M–F coverage)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Shift Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible; may be 8–10+ hour days)
- Weekend Coverage: On-site rounding required
- Patient Load: 24–30 patients per day (must be comfortable with volume)
- Ages Seen: 12+
- EMR: WellSky
- Call Required: Yes
- Call Hours: 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM (part of call pool)
- No standalone call-only shifts
- Initial psychiatric evaluations
- Daily follow-ups
- Discharges
- Weekend inpatient rounding
- Manage psychotropic medications
- Care for both new admissions and established patients
- Active Tennessee medical license required
- Licensed candidates only (no licensing in process)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible – Psychiatry
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- Inpatient psychiatric facility
- Works alongside other inpatient psychiatry providers
- Midlevel providers on staff; locums psychiatrist may supervise
- Support staff includes nursing and mental health clinicians
- Fellowship not required
- Experience accepted in lieu of fellowship
- Must be comfortable with high-volume inpatient psychiatry
