We are seeking an experienced Psychiatrist for a rewarding 120-day locum tenens assignment in Missouri, starting Mar 2, 2026. This full-time inpatient opportunity offers a Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM schedule in a state-of-the-art minimum security state hospital, providing care to a stable forensic population alongside a Nurse Practitioner.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Deliver comprehensive psychiatric care for 36 patients across two units: a locked unit and a less restrictive cottage setting
- Collaborate with a Nurse Practitioner to efficiently manage caseloads
- Maintain weekly notes for the first 8 weeks post-admission, followed by monthly notes thereafter
- Support guardianship processes and engage in multidisciplinary team efforts to ensure holistic patient support
- Provide cross-coverage for other units as needed
- Care for patients adjudicated as Permanently Incompetent to Stand Trial (PIST) and Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI)
- Foster consistent, long-term patient relationships due to low admit and discharge rates (typically 1–3 per month)
Additional Information
- Experience in inpatient forensic settings is helpful but not required
- Must hold an active Missouri medical license
