Position: Part time Psychiatrist – Region 6 – Mental Health
Location: Youngstown, OH
Shift/Hours: 16–24 hours per week, 8-hour shifts; no on-call required
Duration: At least 6 months; potential for long-term or permanent placement
Job Summary
Seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Ohio-licensed psychiatrist to provide on-site, part-time psychiatric services. The role involves evaluating, treating, and managing behavioral health patients, collaborating with healthcare staff, and documenting care in an electronic health record system.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, exams, and write reports.
• Manage patient medications, including prescribing and monitoring.
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing as needed.
• Make referrals for specialized care or treatment.
• Collaborate with intra- and interdepartmental staff to administer treatment using nationally recognized behavioral health standards.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities, including peer reviews.
• Follow scope of practice, facility policies, procedures, protocols, and relevant standards.
• Engage in collaborative agreements as needed.
Workload
• Meet with 12–16 patients per 8-hour shift.
• Core hours typically between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, flexible based on facility needs.
Required Qualifications
• Board-eligible or board-certified psychiatrist.
• Ohio medical license.
• Healthcare professional-level BLS/CPR certification.
• DEA certification (if available).
• Master’s degree minimum; doctoral-level education preferred.
