Join the Iowa Department of Corrections as a Locum Tenens Psychiatrist at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Coralville, IA. This premium opportunity offers a predictable weekday schedule, and no call responsibilities in a secure, structured environment.
Job Responsibilities
Prescribe medications and manage treatment plans
Provide education to patients and families on psychiatric conditions
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team
Qualifications
Active Iowa medical license (or willingness to obtain)
Board Certification in Psychiatry preferred
BLS and DEA certifications
Minimum 1 year of Psychiatry experience
Must meet all credentialing and background requirements
Working Hours
Duration: 26 weeks
Schedule:
Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM OR Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Patient Volume: ~10 patients/day
On-Call: None
