Position Overview
A VA-affiliated outpatient clinic in Bowling Green, KY is seeking a Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to provide ongoing locum coverage. This role focuses on comprehensive behavioral health care for adult military veterans in a structured outpatient setting. The site is actively recruiting for a permanent provider, and you'll work with an established team including primary care providers, RN's, and MA's.
Assignment Details
- Setting: Outpatient only
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day
- Call: None
- Patient Volume: ~12 patients/day
- Patient Type: Adult veterans
- Visit Type: Scheduled visits with potential walk-ins
- Cases: Behavioral health
- Support Staff: RN/MA; onsite primary care providers
- EMR: VISTA/CPRS
- Hourly Rate $140-$150/ hour
Provider Requirements
- Discipline: MD/DO
- Specialty: Psychiatry
- Board Status: BC preferred; BE considered with experience
- Experience: Minimum 1–3 years
- Licensure: Must hold active state license; not currently open to licensing assistance
- Certifications: DEA, BLS, ACLS required
- IMLC: TBD
- Supervision Requirements: TBD

Position Summary
The Psychiatrist will diagnose and treat behavioral health conditions for veteran patients, collaborate with the care team, and support mental health programs. Responsibilities include diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, counseling (individual, group, family/marriage), medication management, case management, clinical documentation, and coordination with VA and community services. The provider will help enhance patient wellness, support health education, maintain compliance standards, and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
