Locums | Psychiatry | Inpatient – Scheduled Hours + Call | Modesto, CA Why This Role

  • Full-time inpatient psychiatry opportunity in a 67-bed behavioral health unit
  • Monday–Friday schedule with limited weekend rounding and no overnight call
  • Leadership opportunity serving as both Medical Director and Attending Psychiatrist
Assignment Details Start Date: 12/15/2025 End Date: Ongoing Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8a–4p; one weekend per month (rounding only, Sat–Sun 8a–4p) Practice Setting: Inpatient Patients per Day: Up to 17 weekdays Admissions per Day: 2–3 EMR: Cerner Call Type: Beeper, 30-minute response time Trauma Level: N/A Requirements Board Certified in Psychiatry Active California license BLS Strong inpatient psychiatry background Clean history Clinical Details Scope: Adult inpatient psychiatry (ages 18+) Responsibilities: - Conduct daily rounds and manage up to 17 patients - Perform 2–3 new admissions per day - Lead multidisciplinary treatment planning - Provide pharmacotherapy and therapeutic interventions Areas of Focus: - Anxiety, affective, psychotic, and personality disorders - ADD/ADHD and mood disorders Preferred Experience: - Group and family therapy - Seclusion/restraint procedures - Involuntary commitments Weekend coverage limited to rounding only; no overnight call Compensation Rates: Facility is accepting bids Malpractice: Provided Travel: Reimbursed
