Key Details

  • Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
  • Setting: Inpatient
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours; can start at desired time but must attend 9:00 AM treatment team. Available by phone until 5:00 PM after rounding.
  • Patient Population: All Ages
  • Location: Raleigh, NC

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment for patients in an acute care setting
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, including Nurse Practitioners
  • Manage a daily average of 16-18 patients
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and ensure thorough documentation using HCS and Fluency Flex for notes

Qualifications

  • Board certification preferred, board eligible considered
  • Must have BLS certification
  • Experience in treating a range of psychiatric disorders including anxiety, affective, and psychotic disorders

Working Hours

  • Monday–Friday, flexible 8-hour shifts starting at a physician's desired time but must attend the 9:00 AM treatment team

Skills

  • Strong clinical skills in pharmacotherapy and family therapy
  • Ability to handle a variety of psychiatric conditions, including severe cases
  • Familiarity with involuntary commitments and restraint application
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
