Job Overview – Psychiatrist (Community Mental Health):
Compensation: $180 – $220/hour
Location: Huntingdon County, PA
Schedule: Various Shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Community-Based)
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Psychiatrist (Community Mental Health) with our client in Huntingdon County, PA. In this community-based role, you will conduct psychiatric evaluations, manage treatment plans and medications, and support individuals with mental health and dual-diagnosis needs. You will also complete biopsychosocial assessments and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, person-centered care. Ideal for psychiatrists experienced in community mental health, IDD, and co-occurring disorders.

Responsibilities as the Psychiatrist (Community Mental Health):
- Clinical Evaluations: Conduct psychiatric evaluations for new consumers and perform annual reassessments for ongoing cases.
- Treatment Planning & Psychopharmacology: Develop individualized treatment plans and prescribe, manage, and monitor medications.
- Biopsychosocial Assessment: Complete comprehensive assessments that consider family dynamics, strengths, and cultural context.
- Dual-Diagnosis Support: Provide psychiatric expertise for individuals with co-occurring mental health and IDD needs in a community-based setting.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work with therapists, nurses, case managers, and support staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
- Education: Medical degree (MD or DO) with formal psychiatric training required.
- Licensure: Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license required.
- Certification: Board certification in Psychiatry required.
- Experience: 2+ years of post-residency experience in psychiatry, preferably within community mental health, dual-diagnosis, or IDD populations.
- Technical Skills: Strong diagnostic, assessment, and psychopharmacological treatment skills with proficiency in EMR documentation.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of community mental health models, IDD services, co-occurring disorders, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented practices.
- Skills & Attributes: Exceptional communication, compassion, and clinical judgment with the ability to collaborate effectively across interdisciplinary teams.
- Other: Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean record and have reliable transportation for community-based visits.
