Job Details

- Schedule: 40 hours per week; no weekends or holidays; optional on-call available; four 10-hour shifts possible
Responsibilities and Duties
- Carry an average caseload of 40 inpatient psychiatric patients (across 2 wards), seen at least monthly and as needed
- Complete patient visits and documentation, including monthly summaries, interim notes as needed, annual assessments, and notes on admission and discharge
- Diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions, including prescribing medications, delivering therapy, and making referrals or consultations as required
- Participate in weekly treatment team meetings with multidisciplinary staff (nursing, psychology, social work, pharmacy, recreation, primary care, and dietary staff)
Additional Information
- Must be licensed to practice in Missouri
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification required
- Board certification in Psychiatry required
- Inpatient psychiatric experience is mandatory; forensic experience preferred
- A physician is on site 24/7 for medical and psychiatric needs
