Job Title: Psychiatrist – Region 3
Location: Chillicothe, OH 45601
Schedule: Weekdays only (flexible start/end times)
Hours per Week: Approximately 16 (minimum 2 on-site day shifts weekly; full-time optional)
Duration: Minimum 6 months, with potential extension
Education Requirement: Doctoral Degree (MD or DO)
Certification: Board-Certified Psychiatrist
Position Summary
The Psychiatrist will provide high-quality psychiatric care to an adult population in a secure behavioral health setting. Responsibilities include evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. This is a part-time on-site role with the option for full-time coverage, including potential telehealth support for additional locations.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and ongoing management for behavioral health patients.
• Document all clinical activities using an electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Conduct mental health examinations, write evaluations, and prepare clinical reports.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests as clinically appropriate.
• Manage and adjust medication regimens.
• Make referrals for specialized services or additional treatment needs.
• Practice within scope, standards of care, applicable policies, and professional protocols.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities, including meetings and peer reviews.
• Engage in collaborative agreements when required for clinical practice.
Required Qualifications
• Active, unrestricted Ohio medical license.
• Board Certification in Psychiatry.
• DEA registration.
• Doctoral degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in secure, correctional, or forensic environments.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
