Job Title: Psychiatrist – Region 1
Location: Toledo, OH 43414
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (may flex earlier as needed)
Hours per Week: 40
Duration: Minimum 6-month assignment (with potential extension or permanent hire)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a licensed Psychiatrist to provide high-quality psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management to adult patients in a secure behavioral-health setting. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive mental-health services in collaboration with interdisciplinary medical, nursing, and direct-care teams.
This is a weekday-only position with no nights, weekends, or holidays. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with adult or forensic populations and be comfortable practicing in a structured clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental disorders, and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with best-practice and state guidelines.
• Provide psychotherapy and counseling interventions as appropriate.
• Supervise, guide, and collaborate with nursing and clinical staff regarding patient care plans.
• Review and maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Participate in staff meetings, interdisciplinary case reviews, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
• Conduct or participate in educational seminars and training sessions for healthcare staff.
• Ensure compliance with all ethical, professional, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
Required Qualifications:
• Active and unrestricted Ohio Medical License.
• Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program (M.D. or D.O.).
• Board eligibility or certification in Psychiatry.
• Current DEA certification (Ohio registration required).
• Doctoral degree in medicine from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five (5) years of medical practice limited to psychiatry – or completion of residency and equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in forensic, inpatient, or correctional psychiatry.
• Familiarity with EPIC or other electronic health record systems.
• Active CAQH profile preferred.
• Strong diagnostic, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary care environment.
