Position Overview
We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric assessments, medication management, and consultation for developmentally disabled patients with mental health disorders. This role combines in-person clinical work with optional telehealth flexibility.
Start Date: January 1, 2026 (tentative and flexible)
Credentialing: 30–40 days
Key Responsibilities

Conduct psychiatric assessments, evaluations, and Mental Status Examinations (MSEs) using DSM-5 criteria.

Provide diagnosis, treatment, and medication management (including controlled substances).

Document all care in the organization’s electronic health record (EHR).

Collaborate closely with medical directors, nurses, clinicians, and case managers.

Participate in treatment planning and interdisciplinary care discussions.

Offer consultation and guidance to clinical staff and therapists.

Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.

Counsel families and caregivers on treatment plans and mental health concerns.

Prepare necessary reports, treatment documentation, and court-related documents.
Candidate Requirements

Active California Medical License
-
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Adult and/or Child Psychiatry (ABPN)

Eligible for Medicare/Medi-Cal certification
-
Authorized to prescribe controlled substances
-
Compliance with vaccination requirements (COVID-19 and flu, or valid exemption)
Schedule & Work Details

Hours: 12–16 hours per week (maximum 16 hours currently available)

Setting: Outpatient clinic (in-person & telehealth)

In-person Requirement: Minimum 1 day/week

Flexible Scheduling: Choose between 8-hour shifts or multiple shorter sessions (e.g., 9 AM–3 PM, 2–3 days/week). Must maintain a consistent weekly schedule.

No travel reimbursement (drive-in candidates preferred).
