Live in Milwaukee or Suburbs

Inherit patients
Outpatient position in the clinic (no telepsysch)

Call is 1 in 5 - phone call only

Job Responsibilities

Patient evaluation and diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, interview patients and their families, review medical history, and order diagnostic and lab tests to diagnose mental health conditions.
Treatment planning: Develop personalized treatment plans that may include a combination of psychotherapy, medication, and other therapeutic approaches.
Medication management: Prescribe, direct, and administer psychotropic medications, and monitor their effects and adjust dosages as needed.
Treatment monitoring: Evaluate treatment results and monitor patients' progress toward their goals, making necessary adjustments to the treatment plan.
Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare providers, including therapists, nurses, social workers, and primary care physicians, to ensure holistic and seamless care.
Record keeping: Maintain detailed, confidential patient records, documenting diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress.
Education: Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and available treatment options.
Continuing education: Stay updated on the latest advancements in psychiatry through conferences, research, and continuing education to maintain professional knowledge.

Qualifications

Education: A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
Training: Completion of a four-year accredited residency program in psychiatry. Optional additional fellowship training (1-2 years) is available for subspecialties (e.g., child and adolescent psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, forensic psychiatry).
Licensing and Certification: A valid state medical license to practice medicine and a license to prescribe controlled substances (DEA registration) are required. Most psychiatrists also obtain board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
