This vital role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive psychiatric care focused on supporting healthcare professionals in a dynamic and collaborative environment. As an integral part of the team, you will evaluate and treat employees, conduct fitness-for-duty assessments, and contribute to workplace mental health initiatives. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct fitness-for-duty evaluations and psychiatric assessments for staff, including physicians, advanced practice providers, and residents.
  • Provide crisis intervention and brief therapeutic support following workplace incidents.
  • Evaluate employees for impairment and formulate appropriate treatment and return-to-work plans.
  • Collaborate with internal programs, external agencies, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and optimal care.
  • Perform pre-placement evaluations and substance-use screening reviews.
  • Contribute to hospital committees, employee wellness initiatives, and foster a supportive workplace environment.
  • Support employees through psychiatric accommodations and crisis management, ensuring safety and well-being.

Requirements:

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certified in Psychiatry.
  • Active New York State medical license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in occupational, consultation-liaison, or adult psychiatry.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with healthcare teams.
