Psychiatry Opportunity – Adult & Geriatric Focus
*Location: Atchison, KS - Kansas City 50m | Full-Time, permanent position*
Position Overview
Seeking a Psychiatrist, Physician with Behavioral Health background, or PMH-APRN to provide comprehensive psychiatric care for adult and geriatric patients. The provider will perform evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment planning with a focus on individualized, patient-centered care including psychotherapy and medication management.
Position Highlights
* Outpatient setting with collaborative interdisciplinary team support
* Opportunity to provide direct patient care, therapy, and medication management
* Involvement in individual, group, and family psychotherapy sessions
* Participate in treatment team meetings and reviews
* Contribute to continuity of care and quality improvement initiatives
* Travel between clinic locations may be required
Responsibilities
* Perform psychiatric evaluations and establish DSM-based diagnoses
* Develop individualized treatment plans and provide therapeutic interventions
* Manage psychotropic medications and obtain informed consent
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines
* Provide consultation to medical physicians and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
* Conduct therapy, medication assessments, and crisis response for patients
* Ensure compliance with supervision processes and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
* Education:
* Doctorate degree required (MD, DO, or PMH-APRN)
* Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Kansas
* Board eligible or certified in Psychiatry or Geriatric Medicine
* Experience:
* Required: Experience in geriatric psychiatry and interdisciplinary team collaboration
* Preferred: 2+ years of post-master’s clinical experience in a geriatric intensive outpatient setting
