Psychiatry Locum Opportunity in Alaska – Spring 2026

Ascend Medical Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist for a 3–6 month locum tenens assignment beginning Spring 2026 in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a unique chance to provide meaningful care in a scenic and adventure-filled setting. We offer assistance with obtaining an Alaska medical license if needed.
Position Highlights:
- Location: Anchorage, AK
- Setting: Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital
- Contract Length: 3-month commitment preferred; flexible terms
- Start Date: Spring 2026
- Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Call: Rotating call – typically one night per week and one weekend per month
- Patient Census: 8–14 patients/day (average 10)
- Ages Seen: Adults, 18+
- Admissions/Discharges: 2–4 per psychiatrist per week
- EMR: MediTech
Facility Support:
- Collaborative interdisciplinary team
- Experienced support from:
- Nurses
- Psychiatric Nursing Assistants
- Occupational & Recreational Therapists
- Social Workers
- Psychologists
