Position Summary
The facility is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Psychiatrist to serve as
Medical Director of Inpatient Psychiatry
in Shelton, CT.
This full-time, permanent leadership opportunity offers a dynamic and collegial environment focused on quality, collaboration, and integrated behavioral health services. The Medical Director will provide both clinical care and administrative oversight for the inpatient psychiatric program, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, quality, and treatment outcomes.

Essential Position Responsibilities
Provide clinical leadership and direction for the inpatient psychiatry program.
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning.
Supervise and mentor attending psychiatrists, residents, and multidisciplinary clinical staff.
Collaborate with hospital administration to develop and implement policies, protocols, and quality initiatives.
Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to best practices in patient safety and behavioral health care.
Participate in strategic planning and program development to enhance patient care services.
Foster a collaborative environment among psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, and case managers.
Qualifications
Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
Licensure & Certification: Board Certified/Board Eligible in Psychiatry; eligible for Connecticut medical licensure.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of clinical psychiatry experience preferred, including prior leadership or administrative experience.
