Position: Psychiatrist – Inpatient or Outpatient
Location: Palestine, TX
Schedule: Full-Time

About the Opportunity

A well-regarded behavioral health program in East Texas is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Psychiatrist to join its team. This position offers flexibility, with opportunities to practice in a inpatient behavioral health hospital or to establish an outpatient-only clinic , depending on your preference.

The inpatient program includes acute psychiatric care as well as a rehabilitative track for non-violent forensic patients, offering a diverse and rewarding patient mix. The program serves a large regional population across East and East Central Texas and is known for its collaborative team environment and strong reputation for patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for a diverse patient population

  • Manage patient care in inpatient or outpatient settings (based on provider preference)

  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications and other therapies

  • Conduct follow-up visits to ensure continuity and treatment adherence

  • Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff

  • Accurately document encounters in EMR and adhere to regulatory standards

  • Contribute to quality improvement and best practice initiatives

Qualifications

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry

  • Eligible for Texas medical licensure

  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Interest in inpatient psychiatry, outpatient practice, or a combination of both
