Job description
This position will facilitate the mission of Metro Family Practice to ensure the delivery of quality patient care and coordination of direct patient within the health center. The individual will administer to the needs of the patients by following the scope of practice and standards of care accurately. The psychiatrist will provide the highest level of care to ensure the quality, cost effective programs and services in all stages of the lifecycle, including other duties, tasks or projects, as needed.

• Ability to utilize computers for data entry and information retrieval.

• Ability to implement and evaluate operational and administrative processes.
• Assures the direction, planning, and evaluation of service delivery, outcomes, and operations in Mental Health, aligned with the desired outcomes of the strategic plan. Establishes key partnerships with administrative colleagues to ensure integrated delivery of services.
• Comprehensive physical assessment; evaluating, diagnosing, and treating new and existing patient's mental health conditions
• Collaboration with Primary Care Providers and Mental Health Services
• Initiating and interpreting labs and x-ray studies including CTs & MRIs
• Performing medical procedures.
• Prescribing and referring patients for specialized consultation.
• Input progress notes on patients' in the EHR indicating patient status and treatment procedures performed.
• Conducting follow-up patient care.
• Providing health education to patients and families
• Supervising and/or coordinating the activities of patient care and support staff within the clinic
• Teaching and training illness prevention.
• Actively participate in community health education.
• Performing emergency life-saving procedures in cases such as cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, massive hemorrhage, or similar emergencies.
• Are among front line medical providers in emergency disaster services
Qualifications
• Licensed to psychiatry in the State of Pennsylvania.
Skills
• Demonstrated knowledge and success in effecting overall clinical operations.
• Experience/Knowledge of required accreditation process and requirements, as well as all federal, state and local regulations and standards associated with the delivery of care in a community health center environment.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and emergency situations successfully
• Proficiency in knowledge of office management, use of computer and EMR’s
