Excellent locum opportunity for a Board-Certified Psychiatrist to provide inpatient psychiatric care in Muskegon, MI. The position offers weekday coverage with call responsibilities and the chance to work with a well-supported multidisciplinary team in an established psychiatric department.
Practice Highlights

Inpatient Psychiatric Department with 27 total beds
-
Average 12 patients per day
-
Work alongside 5 psychiatrists and 6 advanced practice providers
-
Provide supervision for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners
-
Referral sources primarily from Muskegon and Grand Rapids EDs
-
EMR: Epic
-
Safety and security measures in place, including staff duress system and 24/7 onsite security

No pediatric patients
Clinical Responsibilities
-
Manage a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including:
• Anxiety Disorders
• Affective Disorders
• ADD/ADHD
• Personality Disorders
• Eating Disorders
• Developmental Disorders
• Psychotic Disorders
• Organic Disorders -
Provide care and interventions related to:
• Involuntary commitments
• Seclusion therapy
• Pharmacotherapy
• Group therapy
• Restraint application
Candidate Requirements

Board Certified in Psychiatry – REQUIRED

Active MI Medical License – REQUIRED

BLS certification – REQUIRED

Must be available to cover the full assignment dates (no exceptions)
Schedule & Coverage
-
Weekday coverage: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Call coverage: 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM, unrestricted if able

Coverage Dates: August 26 – September 19

Estimated credentialing timeframe: ~3 months (expedited need)
