Overview

Excellent locum opportunity for a Board-Certified Psychiatrist to provide inpatient psychiatric care in Muskegon, MI. The position offers weekday coverage with call responsibilities and the chance to work with a well-supported multidisciplinary team in an established psychiatric department.

Practice Highlights

• Inpatient Psychiatric Department with 27 total beds

• Average 12 patients per day

• Work alongside 5 psychiatrists and 6 advanced practice providers

• Provide supervision for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners

• Referral sources primarily from Muskegon and Grand Rapids EDs

• EMR: Epic

• Safety and security measures in place, including staff duress system and 24/7 onsite security

• No pediatric patients

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including:
  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Affective Disorders
  • ADD/ADHD
  • Personality Disorders
  • Eating Disorders
  • Developmental Disorders
  • Psychotic Disorders
  • Organic Disorders

• Provide care and interventions related to:
  • Involuntary commitments
  • Seclusion therapy
  • Pharmacotherapy
  • Group therapy
  • Restraint application

Candidate Requirements

• Board Certified in Psychiatry – REQUIRED

• Active MI Medical License – REQUIRED

• BLS certification – REQUIRED

• Must be available to cover the full assignment dates (no exceptions)

Schedule & Coverage

• Weekday coverage: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Call coverage: 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM, unrestricted if able

• Coverage Dates: August 26 – September 19

• Estimated credentialing timeframe: ~3 months (expedited need)
