Locum Psychiatrist Needed in Montana - Make $200/hr to $225/hr

Aya Locums is seeking an experienced Board-Certified Psychiatrist for an immediate Locums-to-Perm opportunity at a state hospital in Montana. This role is part of the Addictive & Mental Disorders Division (AMDD) and involves providing direct care for adult patients.

📍 Assignment Overview

• Start Date: Immediate (expedited credentialing available—MSH will cover costs)

• Contract Length: 3 months (Locums-to-Perm)

• Schedule: Full-time | 4x10s Day Shifts

• Call: 1 weekend per 4-day work block + 1–2 weekday overnights/month

• Setting: Inpatient psychiatry

• Patient Census: 10–15 adult patients/day (ages 18–89)
  

• Housing: Communal housing provided — private bedroom with shared kitchen, living room, and bathroom

🩺 Key Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care (50%)

• Perform psychiatric evaluations, diagnose, and manage treatment plans

• Prescribe medications and monitor therapeutic response and side effects

• Collaborate with other psychiatrists and medical professionals on complex cases

• Refer to primary care or specialty providers when indicated

Team & Hospital Collaboration (35%)

• Participate in daily rounding, treatment team meetings, and care planning

• Document all clinical interactions, H&Ps, consults, and treatment plans

• Coordinate discharge planning and provide documentation to aftercare providers

Interdisciplinary Care & Communication (10%)

• Communicate with nursing staff, families, and clinical teams regarding patient progress

• Maintain patient confidentiality and compliance with regulatory standards

• Support a positive and efficient working environment

Hospital Committee & Peer Engagement (5%)

• Serve on hospital committees as assigned

• Participate in continuing education, training programs, and medical staff meetings

✅ Requirements

• Degree: MD or DO

• Board Status: Board Certified in Psychiatry

• License: Montana license required (willing to license)

• Certifications: BLS and unrestricted DEA

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of inpatient psychiatric experience preferred
