Psychiatrist opening - Rockland and Sullivan Counties, NY A federally qualified health center offering comprehensive care in Rockland and Sullivan Counties is seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatrist to join the Behavioral Health Team. With over 100 healthcare professionals and three decades of experience delivering accessible and affordable care to low income and high-risk residents, this FQHC invites the best healthcare professionals to build their careers with us. The Psychiatrist will assess patients, diagnose or rule out mental disorders, prescribe treatments, and conduct follow-up appointments to monitor progress. The role includes providing behavioral health treatment for a wide variety of psychiatric disorders and collaborating with other professionals to optimize patient care. Position Details

  • Assess patients through interviews, observations, tests, and medical history reviews
  • Accurately diagnose patients
  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans and prescribe medication as needed
  • Consult with other medical professionals and psychologists
  • Regularly follow up with patients to check progress and adjust treatment plans
  • Thoroughly document diagnosis, symptoms, medication, and treatment effectiveness
  • Provide emotional support and management strategies to patients
  • Research new developments in psychiatry and mental health
  • Provide coverage for other providers after hours or when away
  • Comply with applicable policies and support the Compliance Program
  • Perform other duties as required
