Psychiatrist – Inpatient Adult Unit
📍 Denver, CO | 🏥 Academic/County Hospital Setting | 📅 Starts November 2025

🔍 The Role

We’re looking for a committed Board-Certified Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Health Department during an exciting launch phase of a new 12-bed adult inpatient psychiatric unit.

Start Date: November 17, 2025 – June 26, 2026 (7-month contract, with the possibility to extend)

🕒 Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM

  • 7 on / 7 off (weekend call during your 7 days on, but no night call; rounding only on weekends)

Note: Schedules are made monthly—adaptability is key!

👥 Team Support

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team including:

  • Nursing

  • Psychology

  • Occupational Therapy

  • Social Work / Case Management

You’ll also have the opportunity to teach and supervise residents in an academic setting, depending on your rotation.

  • Population: Adults with serious psychiatric conditions

Job Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for adult patients on the new 12-bed inpatient unit.

Qualifications

Board Certified
CO License
CO DEA
BLS/ACLS
2 Experience preferred

Working Hours

Schedule: M-F 8a-5p; if working 7 on/7 off schedule they will cover the unit for call on the weekends but they are done after rounding and will not have to take night call. Schedules are made monthly and candidates MUST be flexible.

Skills

Skills required: Must have recent inpatient experience. Providers may rotate through services: direct, teaching (supervision of residents) and new unit. Must be comfortable in setting with very ill patients. Additionally, candidates must work well independently as well as collaboratively as this is a very collegial environment, good personality for teaching since they have residents.
