VieMed Healthcare Staffing is seeking a highly qualified Psychiatrist to provide exceptional mental health care at a facility housing individuals detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. This role offers a unique chance to contribute to public health and human rights while working in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
In this position, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat a diverse patient population, including urgent and emergency mental health cases, family units, and gender-specific care such as transgender and pregnancy-related mental health management. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver recovery-oriented, culturally sensitive psychiatric services, ensuring compliance with IHSC policies and detention standards. Telepsychiatry services are available to extend care across facilities, utilizing state-of-the-art electronic health records and video conferencing tools.

Telepsychiatry services are available to extend care across facilities, utilizing state-of-the-art electronic health records and video conferencing tools.
Required Skills:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited U.S. or equivalent foreign medical school
- Completion of four years of psychiatric specialty training leading to board eligibility
- Minimum of one year of licensed practice as a psychiatrist
- Full, unrestricted medical license in Washington State
- Board certification eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Experience in detention, correctional, or residential healthcare settings (preferred)
- Strong diagnostic, medication management, and psychotherapy skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and cultural competency skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Additional state licensing for out-of-state telepsychiatry
- Experience with electronic health records and telehealth platforms
- Knowledge of public health trends affecting diverse populations
- Bilingual abilities or multilingual skills
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited U.S. or foreign medical school with ECFMG certification
- Board-eligible or board-certified in psychiatry
- At least one year of post-licensure psychiatric practice
- Prior experience working in detention or correctional healthcare environments
Other Requirements:
- Ability to provide telepsychiatry services within licensed states
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and competency assessments
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Flexibility to respond to medical emergencies as needed
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly pay rate of $220, with weekly pay via direct deposit
