About the Role:
SUN Behavioral Health Delaware is seeking a committed Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our dedicated team in the historic town of Georgetown, DE. This is a full-time, on-site position offering a stable and rewarding environment to provide comprehensive psychiatric care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient psychiatric services to a diverse patient population within a 99-bed facility.
- Manage an average caseload of approximately 18 patients per day.
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, and oversee pharmacotherapy regimens.
- Manage involuntary commitments in accordance with state regulations.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Advanced Practice Providers.
- Document patient interactions and treatment progress using Wellsky EMR.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and state/federal healthcare regulations.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with active DEA registration.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
- Must have a valid and current medical license for the state of Delaware.
- Experience in managing a variety of psychiatric conditions, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, eating disorders, personality disorders, developmental disorders, and psychotic disorders.
- Familiarity with involuntary commitment procedures and pharmacotherapy.
- Must demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Candidate Requirements:
- Permanent interest; this position is not open to locum tenens applicants.
- BLS certification required.
- Prior experience working in inpatient settings preferred but not mandatory.
