Adult Subacute Detox Residential Treatment | Psychiatrist Locum Tenens Job in Southern California

Details/Requirements:
*Board Certification is required in Psychiatry and Board Certification in Addiction Medicine is preferred (it’s more about your experience, if not boarded in addiction medicine), and local psychiatrists preferred to provide in person visits onsite.
*Need is to provide young adult residential treatment services (patient age range 18-35) for a 6-bed subacute detox residential treatment program with dual diagnosis patients where substance use is primary.
*Need starts ASAP and ongoing for 8-10 hours a week (possibly up to as much as 12 hours a week initially) which includes new assessments, team collaborating, documentation, follow ups, etc.).
*Flexible regarding days/hours worked between 8A-5P, Monday through Friday as long as initial assessments are done within a maximum of 24 hours of admission but the preference is for the doctor to do initial assessments the same day.
*Must work onsite one day a week of your choosing for 1-4 hours, depending on the number of patients in the program, and the rest of the work can be done via remote tele health.
*No call – the only things that tend to come up after hours would be a new admission at 4pm – in such cases, the locum tenens psychiatrist would look at the medications and tell the nursing team if the patient is approved or not approved. They do this through an MS Teams chat. Otherwise, no crisis work after hours.
*They expect the ADC will grow to 60 to 70%, shooting for an ADC of 4 patients.
*Average length of stay is anticipated to be 40-45 days.
*Support staff at each location: Program Director, Clinical Supervisor, Therapists, Care Coordinators, Teacher/Tutor
*Client allows 1 to 1.5 hours for initial evaluations/assessments and 30-60 minutes for medication follow ups depending on the complexity of the patient. See patients at least once per week in follow up, depending on the patient.
*Client has an electronic health record, so you must be computer savvy.
*Average Credentialing timeline: 2-3 weeks.
*Client prefers 3-month minimum assignments.
