Supports and implements the mission, vision, and core values of organization. This Staff Physician will diagnose and treat medical and/or mental illness. Gain insight into a patient's past and find coping methods to help patients address their own problems. The Staff Physician is an active member of the Medical Staff, contracted by the organization in a leadership role to oversee clinical activities in the hospital and assure coordination and integration into the primary functions of the organization.

Job Responsibilities

Provides direct services including psychiatric evaluations, medication management as well as treatment planning/reviews and other required documentation for assigned patients on the inpatient unit, ED and/or Med-Surg floor.
Follows and ensures agency policy/procedures, including all emergency procedures are adhered to
Ensures patients are referred to appropriate programs and services as clinically appropriate and communicates need to nursing staff to ensure referrals are completed
Monitors treatment progress and utilization management and facilitates client discharge at completion of treatment and/or once client is stabilized
Participates in and meets all ethical and agency standards regarding treatment and documentation practices, QA/QI procedures, utilization management, emergency procedures, and program and client outcomes

Qualifications

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine..
Board Certified.
Current PA. Medical License.
Valid and unrestricted Federal/State registration to prescribe, dispense and administer controlled substances.
