Schedule Options:

Mon - Thur 4P - 8:30am (take night phone calls 0-3 calls). Base pay: $300 per night and any additional hour over 1 hour billed at $250 per hour.

Friday 4pm - Monday 8:30am (take phone calls and rounding on Sat and Sun on in-patients). $900 base for call for all weekend, Plus $200 per hour rounding on Sat and Sun (Max of 8 hours rounding on each weekend day) (assuming 8hrs rounding per day $4100 total for weekend) $150 per hour for training. No more than 12 hrs. per applicant per year.

VA-CIHCS Standards:

On-Call Services: Contract psychiatrists supporting on-call will respond to call from the hours of 1600 to 0830 the next day for weekdays, and 0800 Saturday to 0800 Monday for weekends. One hour minimum for providing availability for the day/ period (1600-0830) if no call for services made. Days when a call for service is made, the first hour call services and minimum for availability are the same. Areas using the on-call services include VA-CIHCS inpatient units (3A, 3B, CLC, Domiciliary, ICU/ Tele), and the Emergency Department. Calls will be initated by the VA AOD for patients requiring on-call services, or instances requiring admission, discharge, or health and welfare check determination. If the contract psychiatrist needs to contact the VA, calls will be through the AOD. All patient interactions require documentation when a patient is seen. A contract provider is expected to respond to a call request within 15 minutes. Contract providers will be subject to OPPE for review and following care guidelines. All charting will be complete within 24 hours, with the exception of time sensitive information requiring additional communication with VA psychiatry or other follow on staff.

2. Tele-Rounding services will be conducted via video teleconference for VA-CIHCS inpatient units (3A, 3B, CLC, Domiciliary, ICU/ Tele), and the Emergency Department. Contract psychiatrists will be expected to be available for patient rounding from 0800 to 1600 for weekends and holidays. The telerounding schedule will be in the scheduled contract providers account in the medical record, as well as as any consults in CPRS view alerts. The contract provider will call the nurses station for the patinets call/ conference. For bed bound patinets, the nurse can take an iPAD to the patient for the visit. All charting will be complete within 24 hours, with the exception of time sensitive information requiring additional communication with VA psychiatry or other follow on staff. 36C26323D0109 Page 17 of 70

3. Contract psychiatrists shall be responsible for keeping their own call sheet/consultation count for attendance and turning them in to their company representative timekeeper. Sheet must at minimum include the name of the patient, last four of the social security number, day and time work was performed. Company will send time sheets to the COR to review. COR will sign the sheets and will send back to the company. Company will submit information to the payment center for payment. See section 6.2. Billing. Sheets will be used by the COR to confirm services provided against the contractor’s invoices.

4. Psychiatrists designated to be present daily will be identified before shift starts. See section 3.2 for work schedule. Credentialing and Privileging will be completed before candidate will be allowed to start work under this contract. See section 2.1.3.

5. A Contractor employee must be available for call and present for telerounding for the hours specified, on time, and must perform the required services for payment. Contractor employee will be paid for actual performance of duties. Payment for any type of leave will be responsibility of the Contractor. The VA has the right to refuse to accept any Contractor employee who does not meet requirements or who fails to perform adequately or adapt to VA work environments. 4.3.3.6. Contract staff will use contractor provided automation and access VA medical systems using VA remote access. Staff must be familiar with electronic medical records.
