Medcare Staffing has an upcoming bid opportunity for locum tenens.
ANY state license accepted for this opportunity.

The Contractor shall provide Board Certified (preferred) or Board Eligible Psychiatrists in support of the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System (VALLHS) within the Behavioral Health Service. The provided care shall cover the full range of duties and responsibilities of an outpatient Staff Psychiatrist, as needed by VALLHS.

The approximate start date would be May 2024.

Contract psychiatrists’ workstations shall be located at the VALLHS main hospital campus or when necessary, a Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).

Normal working hours are defined as 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Normal weekly requirements per Full Time Equivalent (FTE) shall be 40 hours. Payment for coverage shall be for actual hours worked (at VALLHS), to include off-site within the greater Los Angeles area).


As always we would cover malpractice and travel.




1. QUALIFICATIONS.
Contract psychiatrists shall meet the following qualifying criteria. United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
