As a Psychiatrist at [Register to View] , you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive psychiatric care to our clients. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, social workers, and other mental health professionals, to provide a holistic approach to mental health treatment. Essential duties include conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments/evaluations and mental status examinations (MSEs) of patients, providing multi-axial diagnoses according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) approved by the American Psychiatric Association; developing and implementing individualized mental health treatment planning for assigned child/adolescent patients; providing competent psychotropic medication treatment and other psychiatric treatments to meet the needs of assigned patients; performing related tasks as required. Your expertise will contribute to improving the well-being of individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges.

We are seeking two psychiatrists. The first is an Adult Psychiatrist for an inpatient position with its PICU/Crisis Unit. The second is an Adult Psychiatrist for its inpatient detox unit. Both offer a Monday to Friday work schedule with no tele psych option. Position duties include rounding, admissions, treatment team participation, discharge summaries, and medication management and participation in call rotation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, including interviews, medical histories, physical exams, observations, and psychological testing
  • Analyze data and results of assessments to diagnose patients
  • Prescribe and administer medications according to diagnosis
  • Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications
  • Develop a treatment plan, measure progress against the plan, and make adjustments as needed
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner
  • Collaborate with a broader team of physicians, psychologists, and nurses to assess and adjust treatment plans
  • Coordinate and communicate with case managers and other stakeholders about treatment and care

Job Qualifications:

  • Current and valid board certification in psychiatry
  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Utah
  • Current DEA registration
  • Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current DSM criteria
  • Familiar with crisis assessment tools and techniques
  • Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
