Clinical Psychologist to support military members and their families at Mike O'Callaghan Military Medical Center - Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, NV.
Hours: This is a full-time position plus on-call rotation.
- Regular: Mon-Fri- 07:30 am-04:30 pm OR Mon-Thurs 07:30 am-06:30 pm
- On-Call/Beeper: Tues-Tues - 05:30 pm-07:30 am - Rotated among all mental health providers - Additional compensation provided.
Experience:
- Clinical Psychologist: 5 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- License to practice psychology (Required)
Job Responsibilities
Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources.
Diagnose all significant psychiatric disorders by the most current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders of the American Psychiatric Association.
Determine appropriate treatment settings and provide a variety of effective treatment modalities in an outpatient setting, which include psychopharmacology and traditional interactive psychotherapies.
Conduct assessments and offer appropriate guidance for other providers in treating patients with secondary psychiatric complaints.
Provide timely and accurate psychiatric consultation to commanders in all acute circumstances.
Render fitness/suitability for duty determinations and ensure that all members referred for security clearances, flying operations, personnel reliability programs, and special assignments are capable of such responsibilities from a mental health perspective.
Conduct professional training activities for mental health flight staff, interns, students, and residents by establishing guidelines and time frames.
Qualifications
Education/Degree: Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or (Psy.D.) degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited psychology program or a program acceptable to the Office of the Surgeon General, U.S. Air Force.
Internship: You shall have completed an APA-accredited internship/residency in professional psychology or an internship/residency acceptable to the Office of the Surgeon General, U.S. Air Force.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years experience as a Clinical Psychologist is required to meet clinical competency requirements
Licensure/Registration: Current license to practice psychology in 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. Current certification in Basic Life Support accredited through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.Education:
