**Psychiatry Residency Program Director opening - Tyler, TX** Located 40m to Longview **Position Details** - Full-time, permanent - Program welcomed its first class in 2017 and now supports a full complement of 24 residents. - Psychiatry Residents obtain a well-rounded educational experience by rotating through a number of diverse facilities and healthcare environments. - The program has partnerships with Rusk State Hospital and Terrell State Hospital in addition to the Cenikor Foundation, a substance abuse and treatment center. - Be a part of a growing academic healthcare network comprised of 10 facilities across the fastest growing region in Texas with a 600,000 service area population. **Responsibilities:** - Oversee and manage all operational aspects of the residency training program to include resident recruitment/selection/supervision, faculty selection, quality of educational programming, ensure at least 0.7 FTE is dedicated to the administration of the program (PD and APD), perform resident performance evaluations, policy and procedure development and implementation, disciplinary action as it relates to the program, ensure compliance with all policies and procedures as outlined by governing agencies such as ACGME. **Requirements:** - Must have obtained an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent - Current board certification through the ABPN or American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry - At least 3 years of educational and/or administrative experience **Compensation/Benefits** - Base salary + wRVU production incentive - CME allowance - Sign-on bonus - Medical debt assistance + Consultative services by Navigate Student Loans - Relocation allowance - Residency stipend - Paid malpractice coverage - Health benefits + Retirement plan - Marketing + practice growth assistance **Medical Group Details** - Medical Group is comprised of 10 hospitals, more than 90 physician clinics, over 300 employed providers, 13 regional rehabilitation facilities, two freestanding emergency centers, regional home health services covering 41 counties, an EMS fleet of more than 45 ambulances and four helicopters, and a comprehensive seven-trauma center care network, including a Level 1 trauma center. - Primary service area has a population of over 600,000. - 974-licensed beds - Medical Group is uniquely positioned to provide East Texas patients with access to leading-edge research and clinical therapies while training and educating the next generation of physicians and other health professionals. - Graduate Medical Education is an integral component at the Health System and includes accredited residency programs in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Occupational Medicine, and Psychiatry. - The University of Texas has also approved a medical school in Tyler, which will take its first class in 2023.
