Adult Psychiatry Opportunity - Pittsfield, MA
The Brien Center, a leading provider of community mental health and addiction services in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Adult Psychiatrist to join our esteemed team at the Brain Center. As an Adult Psychiatrist, you will assess, diagnose, and provide comprehensive treatment for a diverse patient population, including individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Substance Use Disorders (SUDs), and various anxiety disorders.
Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Evaluation and Treatment:
- Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to assess patients' mental health needs, including diagnostic assessments and risk assessments.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based practices and best clinical practices for each patient.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including psychologists, therapists, and social workers, to provide coordinated and holistic care.
- Determine and prescribe medication as necessary, and monitor ongoing medication management.
2. Patient Care and Support:
- Provide ongoing individual psychotherapy and counseling services, tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Offer support and intervention strategies to help patients manage their mental health conditions effectively.
- Conduct regular follow-up appointments to assess treatment response, adjust treatment plans as needed, and ensure patient progress.
- Provide crisis intervention and collaborate with crisis teams and emergency services for patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises.
3. Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and clinical supervision to review patient cases and treatment strategies.
- Engage in regular collaboration and consultation with colleagues to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
- Provide clinical guidance and support to other members of the mental health and addiction services team.
- Collaborate with community agencies and other healthcare providers to facilitate continuity of care and appropriate referrals.
