Job Description

Last Update: 2/23/24

Does your psychiatric training, compassion for patients, and work ethic set you apart from the crowd? If so, consider applying for the UHS Resident/Fellow Stipend Program.

The UHS Resident/Fellow Stipend Program provides monthly financial assistance to psychiatry residents and fellows (“students"). The stipend assists in the completion of your residency or fellowship training program. In exchange, you agree to be a medical staff member at a UHS affiliated hospital for two years upon completion of the training program.

This program is intended to link students to UHS affiliated hospitals, not to a specific hospital or practice. Stipends are offered at a time when students are not ready to make a commitment and/or sign a contract with a specific hospital or practice.

*Please Note: This program is currently only for psychiatry and behavioral health residents and fellows.

Benefits of Joining the UHS Resident/Fellow Stipend Program

If you are selected as a stipend recipient, you will enjoy the following benefits:

  • Funds are forgiven as you receive staff privileges at a UHS affiliated hospital for two years
  • Please note: our facilities located in the United Kingdom are not part of the stipend program and cannot be selected as your preferred location.
  • You can go anywhere in the U.S. where there is a UHS hospital and a demonstrated need.
