In a team environment, the Psychiatrist provides direct psychiatric and medication support services to adolescent, adult, and older adult clients. Up to 16 hours of service per week with a schedule to be determined based on the candidate's preferences and our agency’s needs.
Job Responsibilities
Works in a team environment, consults with staff on client behavior and performance, and provides staff training as required.
Reviews behavioral/medical records for compliance with quality and contract requirements.
Prepares correspondence as appropriate.
Consults with other staff and external providers, including psychiatrists, physicians, psychotherapists and other authorized professionals, family members or caregivers.
Provides on-call support to clinicians and case managers.
Enters progress notes, assessments and other items into CCSCC Electronic Records (AWARDS).
Use all applicable laws and guidelines as required by SCC MHD, Title 22, and MediCare documentation requirements.
Comply with SCC Medications Guidelines including laboratory requirements.
Qualifications
A current DEA certificate.
Certification to provide psychiatric services to children required.
Board certified preferred.
Board eligible required with ability to complete certification within the year.
Psychiatric experience and/or experience with homeless, veterans, refugees and/or other high needs clients.
Experience with dual diagnosis and Addiction Medicine.
Psycho-pharmacological experience including long acting injectable medications.
